The results showed that respondents typically take one of the following approaches: using fear, uncertainty and denial (FUD); presenting rational facts; delegating responsibility upwards; strengthening the case with recommendations from auditors, consultants or other outside experts; and taking the initiative to address the problem first and getting authorization after the fact.
