?ízení letecké dopravy zmlklo na t?i hodiny protože zapom?li resetovat MS software
22.09.2004A bug in a Microsoft system and human error led to a three-hour radio breakdown that left hundreds of aircraft without guidance. The failure was caused by a Microsoft-based replacement for an older Unix system, which must be reset every 30 days to prevent data overload due to issues discovered when the system was first rolled out. A technician failed to perform the reset, and the system’s internal clock shut it down. Richard Riggs, an advisor to the technicians union, said the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) had been planning to fix the issue, but should have done so before it was installed. An FAA spokeswoman said a warning system would be installed until the glitch can be fixed.
