After the experience of September 11, 2001 and the massive blackout of 2003, many companies have now installed encrypted data backup processes, remote backup facilities and redundant telecommunications systems. John Shaffer, director of technology at Greenhill & Co. Inc., an investment bank located near the site of the RNC, said there is definitely concern as terrorists have likely chosen possible targets in the area.
